5 Natural Home Remedies to Prevent Hair Fall

Hair fall is a common problem among men and women; at least 1 out of five people around you have experienced it at some point in life. The root cause of frequent hair fall can be hormonal imbalance, nutritional deficiencies, stress, excessive use of styling products, side effects of birth control pills, thyroid issues, aging, genetics, or some other medical condition like Alopecia or PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome). Sometimes the reason for hair fall can be something minor, such as not choosing the right shampoo and conditioner. It is important to choose products that are suitable for your hair type. Not to mention, minimize the use of hair straightener, curling iron, and hair drier as much as possible.

Fortunately, taking care of your hair and restoring its vitality is not as complicated as estate planning. The following natural remedies can help strengthen your roots, eliminate dryness, and nourish the entire length to make hair less brittle:

1.Regular Oiling

Oiling your hair once or twice a week is a true and tried recipe of preserving hair moisture and preventing fragility. You can use an oil that favors your hair type and the climate of your region. For instance, if you live in a cold country, you may choose olive or coconut oil. Mustard oil is a better choice if you live in a place that is very hot and humid. Castor and Argon oil are also great for hair, and can be used by anyone. Thoroughly massage your scalp with the oil and apply it to the entire length of hair as well. Keep it on for a few hours or overnight; then wash with a mild shampoo and towel dry.

2.Swapping chemical products with natural substitutes

Commercial hair sprays, gels, creams, and mousses may provide temporary luster and structure to hair, but they are damaging in the long run. Using them once in a blue moon is fine, but applying them on a daily basis can surely lead to hair fall. Swap these chemical products with natural ingredients, such as coconut oil, glycerin, and gelatin.

3.Egg Mask

Eggs are a rich source of protein and loaded with several essential minerals like iodine, selenium, zinc, sulfur, and phosphorus. They are easily available and you probably have a few in your fridge right now. Beat an egg or two in a bowl (depending on your hair length) and slather your hair with it. You may add a tablespoon of a hair oil of your choice, though that is optional. Let it stay for about half an hour, then rinse with lukewarm water, and shampoo to get rid of the smell.

4.Yogurt and Honey

Yogurt and honey are not just good for the gut; the combination of these two can do wonders for your hair as well. Both natural products are rich in antioxidants and probiotics that promote cellular repair and growth. Take a small bowl of Greek yogurt and blend in a tablespoon of raw honey. Apply the mixture to your scalp and hair with a dye brush, and rinse after half an hour.

5.Fenugreek Seeds

Fenugreek seeds are a miracle worker for your hair follicles. Applying them to your hair twice a week for a whole month can reduce hair fall by at least 90%. You have to soak a cup of seeds overnight and grind them into a fine paste in the morning. Apply to your hair and scalp, cover with a shower cap to retain moisture, and let it stay for about 45 minutes; rinse with plain afterwards.
